Coronavirus update 18 January
Earlier this week, DEFRA revised their COVID guidelines in relation to Pet Grooming and their definition of the term Welfare for the purposes of lockdown 3.0.
Pet Grooming Businesses may now only accept a dog to be groomed where it is necessary for the welfare of the animal.
Welfare is now defined by DEFRA during this lockdown as a groom being required because it would alleviate a skin condition or because matting is causing discomfort to the pet. Painful nails which require trimming are also considered welfare.
All other grooming must be delayed until the lockdown has ended.
To ensure we are operating in accordance with the new definitions, we will contact all clients with upcoming appointments as soon as possible to discuss the individual condition of your dog. As a result, our salons will not be open as usual during this time but will only be open to attend to those clients whose welfare needs have been determined and who have been provided with an appointment as a result of their welfare.
To help us maintain our welfare service and keep you and ourselves safe, we will have strict procedures in place to minimise the risk of any infection, these can be summarised as follows:
🐾 Reception is limited to one person, please wait outside if we have a client with us.
🐾 Masks must be worn when entering our stores *exclusions apply
🐾 Drop off and collection times are for maximum safety. Your appointment may not be possible if you are late
🐾 You will be asked to attach our 5m lead to your dog, taking your own lead away with you. This will be reversed upon collection

🐾 In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, we can not de-matt matted coats. Matted dogs will be clipped off and surcharges will apply.
🐾 Payment vía card is preferred but cash can be accepted
Individual salon restrictions apply - one person in reception at once, please wait outside if we are assisting another client. Please maintain a social distance. Dogs must remain on leads when in reception to assist with the spread of COVID-19.
The Snobby Dogs teams are always here to support you and provide any advice you need. If you need our help during this lockdown, please do not hesitate to contact your local salon for advice and/or an appointment if your dog has developed welfare concerns. Our phones will be diverted to enable us to assist you as best we can.
